Petrofac wins Petronas gas plant contract

PETROFAC has been awarded a US$96m contract by Petronas to build a new gas plant onshore at Tanjung Kidurong in Bintulu, Malaysia.

The engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) contract is for a new 390m ft³/d plant known as the Bintulu Additional Gas Sales Facilities 2. The development includes a process and utilities unit, effluent treatment unit, metering skid, fire water tank, pumps, flare system and main substation building. It will also conduct brownfield modifications and tie in with the existing plant located in Bintulu, Sarawak.  

Petrofac Chief Operating Officer Nick Shorten said: “The contract will be delivered by Petrofac Group’s local subsidiary, Petrofac Engineering Services, with engineering support from Petrofac-RNZ and local supply chain and subcontractors, further underpinning our commitment to local delivery.”
